PURE

The PURE is a novel personalized mobility device that is omnidirectional, physically compact, light, and controlled hands-free. The device is designed to accommodate not just able-bodied users but also manual wheelchair users to navigate in tight spaces, achieve high maneuverability, and enable the use of hands during navigation. The PURE uses the ball-robot concept in which the device is balanced on a single ball controlled by multiple omni-wheels and actuators. PURE also offers object detection and avoidance system to ensure safety of riders.
